nala (0.18.0) unstable; urgency=medium

This release replaces Python Nala with the Rust implementation in Debian.

Automatic removal remains enabled for interactive transactions. When
--assume-yes is active, implicit autoremove is skipped unless --autoremove is
also given. The explicit autoremove and autopurge commands are unaffected.

Ui.mode now defaults to Auto, which uses enhanced inline progress where the
terminal supports it. Full-screen interfaces remain opt-in through Ui.mode =
"Tui" or --tui; Ui.mode = "Plain" remains available for static output.

Upgrading from Python Nala replaces an untouched packaged configuration
automatically. If a locally modified /etc/nala/nala.conf is kept, it must
be migrated before Rust Nala will run. Preserve a copy before editing and
  use /etc/nala/nala.conf.dpkg-dist as a reference:

  * Rename Nala.simple_summary to Nala.simple, keeping the boolean value.
  * Remove Nala.filesize_binary. Set Ui.unit to "Binary" for the old true
    value, or "Decimal" for false.
  * Remove Nala.scrolling_text. Set Ui.mode to "Plain" for static output or
    "Auto" for enhanced inline output.
  * Remove Nala.transfer_speed_bits. Transfer rates use bytes per second.

Other supported Nala settings keep their names. Run `nala history` after
editing to check the configuration. Legacy history.json is read automatically
and imported on the first history mutation; the original file is preserved
and should not be deleted during configuration migration.

nala (0.17.1) unstable; urgency=medium

The Python-only --raw-dpkg mode is retired; use plain output for log-friendly
transactions. The no-op --license and download --fetch options are also
removed. License information remains available in the package copyright
  file.

nala (0.17.0) unstable; urgency=medium

This package now builds the Rust implementation of Nala.

/etc/nala/nala.conf remains TOML, with new Ui and Color sections for the Rust
implementation. It remains a dpkg conffile: dpkg replaces an unmodified
packaged file automatically and prompts before replacing local changes. If
the old file is kept, the packaged file is normally saved as
/etc/nala/nala.conf.dpkg-dist. Nala now refuses an existing invalid config or
retired field instead of silently using defaults.

Plain output and binary units are now the defaults. The TUI is opt-in through
Ui.mode or --tui. Legacy scrolling_text and transfer_speed_bits settings are
retired; Ui.mode = "Plain" is the log-friendly output mode.

Legacy Python history is read automatically and imported on the first
history mutation. The original history.json file is preserved.

nala (0.9.0) unstable; urgency=medium

The configuration file for Nala at `/etc/nala/nala.conf`
has been changed to toml. This change is BREAKING as the older config
file will no longer work. Nala will still run with the old config,
but there will be a syntax error and it will use the program defaults.
